Vet GPT AI — How we collect, use, and safeguard your information

1. Introduction

Vet GPT AI (“we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated by Emrah Korkmaz. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application Vet GPT AI (the “App”), available on the Apple App Store.

By downloading, installing, or using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with the terms of this Privacy Policy, please do not access or use the App.

2. Information We Collect

2.1 Information Collected Automatically

When you use the App, certain information is collected automatically, including:

  • Anonymous User Identifier: We use Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account for you. This identifier is not linked to your personal identity, name, email, or any other personally identifiable information.
  • Analytics Data: We use Firebase Analytics to collect anonymized usage data, including screens viewed, features used, session duration, and general interaction patterns. This data is aggregated and cannot be used to identify you personally.
  • Crash and Performance Data: We use Firebase Crashlytics to collect crash reports, error logs, and performance metrics. This data includes device model, operating system version, app version, and stack traces to help us identify and fix technical issues.
  • Subscription Data: We use RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions. RevenueCat processes your subscription status and purchase history. Payment processing is handled entirely by Apple through the App Store — we never receive, store, or have access to your payment information, credit card numbers, or Apple ID.
  • Device Information: We may collect general device information such as device type, operating system version, language settings, and time zone for analytics and app functionality purposes.

2.2 Information You Provide

  • AI Chat Conversations: When you use the AI Assistant features, your messages and uploaded images are sent to Google Gemini AI for processing. Conversations are stored locally on your device for chat history functionality. We do not store your conversations on our servers.
  • Uploaded Images and Documents: Images (such as radiographs, lab reports, and clinical photos) and PDF documents you upload are sent to Google Gemini AI for analysis. These files are processed in real-time and are not stored on our servers.
  • Feedback and Support: If you contact us through the in-app feedback form or via email, we collect the information you voluntarily provide, including your message content and category selection.

2.3 Information We Do NOT Collect

  • We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or physical address
  • We do not collect or store payment information
  • We do not collect location data
  • We do not collect photos, contacts, or any data from other apps on your device
  • We do not use advertising identifiers (IDFA)
  • We do not engage in any form of user tracking across apps or websites

3. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect for the following purposes:

  • App Functionality: To provide and maintain the App's core features, including AI veterinary assistants, imaging analysis, lab interpretation, and subscription management
  • Improvement and Optimization: To analyze usage patterns, identify bugs, fix crashes, and improve the overall user experience
  • Subscription Management: To verify your subscription status and provide access to premium features
  • Customer Support: To respond to your feedback, inquiries, and support requests
  • Legal Compliance: To comply with applicable laws, regulations, and legal processes

We do not sell, trade, or share your personal information with any third parties for marketing or advertising purposes.

5. AI Assistants and Data Processing

The App provides 50+ AI veterinary assistants powered by Google Gemini AI, including imaging analysis, lab interpretation, drug interaction checking, and specialist consultations. Please be aware of the following:

  • Your chat messages and uploaded images/documents are sent to Google's servers for processing and response generation
  • We strongly advise you not to share personally identifiable information about patients, clients, or any individuals in your AI conversations or uploaded documents
  • Chat history is stored locally on your device only
  • Google may process your queries in accordance with its own privacy policy and terms of service
  • The AI Assistants are educational reference tools and do not constitute veterinary medical advice

6. Data Storage and Security

  • Local Storage: Chat history and user preferences are stored locally on your device using SwiftData and UserDefaults
  • No Cloud Storage: We do not maintain servers that store your personal data. All user-generated content remains on your device
  • Encryption: All network communications between the App and third-party services use TLS/SSL encryption
  • Data Protection: The App leverages iOS built-in data protection features to encrypt data stored on your device

While we implement commercially reasonable security measures, no method of electronic storage or transmission over the Internet is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security of your data.

7. Data Retention

  • Analytics Data: Firebase Analytics data is retained according to Google's data retention policies (default: 14 months)
  • Crash Data: Crashlytics data is retained for 90 days
  • Local Data: Data stored on your device persists until you delete the App or use the “Delete Account & Data” feature within the App
  • Support Communications: Feedback and support emails are retained for as long as necessary to resolve your inquiry

8. Your Rights and Choices

You have the following rights regarding your data:

  • Delete All Data: You can delete your anonymous account and all local data at any time using the “Delete Account & Data” option in the App's Profile tab
  • Opt Out of Analytics: You can limit analytics data collection by disabling analytics in your device's privacy settings
  • Uninstall: You can stop all data collection by uninstalling the App. All locally stored data will be removed upon uninstallation

For Users in the European Economic Area (EEA)

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you have additional rights including the right to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, and port your data. Since we collect only anonymous data and do not maintain user accounts linked to personal information, most data is automatically deleted when you remove the App.

For Users in California (USA)

Under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, request deletion of personal information, and opt out of the sale of personal information. We do not sell personal information to any third party.

For Users in Brazil

Under the Lei Geral de Proteção de Dados (LGPD), Brazilian residents have rights similar to those under the GDPR, including access, correction, deletion, and portability of personal data.

9. Children's Privacy

The App is not directed to children under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. The App is designed for use by licensed veterinary professionals and veterinary students. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

10. International Data Transfers

Your information may be transferred to and processed in countries other than your country of residence, including the United States, where Google and RevenueCat maintain their servers. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from your jurisdiction. By using the App, you consent to the transfer of your information to these countries.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any material changes by updating the “Last Updated” date at the top of this Privacy Policy. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes. Your continued use of the App after any modifications constitutes your acceptance of the updated Privacy Policy.
